Host a Screening
Anyone can host The Last Yztari — at a theater, a church, a library, a community space, a campus, or your own living room. Hosting is a powerful way to bring people together around Mary’s story and support the independent filmmakers behind the film.
It’s a simple two-step process: submit the short inquiry below to start the conversation, and we’ll follow up with answers and a private link to the full registration & payment form.
Start Your Inquiry
Tell us a little about your screening — there’s no commitment at this stage.
Virtual screenings
Hosting online? We can provide a streaming option for remote and hybrid events — note it in your inquiry.
Colleges & universities
Screening at a college, university, or other institution? Just mention it in your inquiry — institutional screenings have their own licensing, and we’ll work out the details with you.
Frequently Asked Questions
When can I hold my screening?
Anytime that works for you. Check the Watch page to see other scheduled screenings, then pick a date that suits your venue and audience.
Is there a fee to host?
Yes — host fees go directly to supporting the independent filmmakers. We use a sliding scale so groups of every budget can take part: choose any amount from as low as $250 up to the standard rate of $499 when you register.
How long is the film?
The film runs approximately 76 minutes.
Do I need to rent a theater?
No. You can host anywhere — a theater, a church, a library, a community space, or even your living room. Hosts have run screenings in all of these.
What formats are available?
A streaming link or a digital download (with or without English captions), or a DCP for theaters. You choose the format that fits your venue when you register.
Should I tell the press?
It depends on whether your screening is public or private. If it is public, we encourage you to reach out to local press and share it through your social and community networks — we can help with materials.
Will you provide promotional templates?
Yes. Confirmed hosts receive a host kit with social media templates, a draft press release, and a poster to help promote your screening.
Can a filmmaker or subject attend?
Yes, on a limited basis — in person or via Zoom — for an additional fee. In-person appearances involve travel costs and an honorarium; virtual appearances are offered at a reduced rate. Let us know your interest when you inquire.
Can I host more than one screening per license?
Each license covers one public screening. Additional screenings are discounted (for example, a 2nd screening at $350 and a 3rd at $250) and are also offered on the sliding scale.
Can I screen at a college or university?
Yes. Institutional screenings — colleges, universities, schools, and the like — have their own licensing, separate from community screenings. Start with the inquiry form, mention that it’s for an institution, and we’ll work out the right license with you.
